Your Family's Safety
A very important aspect to LocationNation's technology and it's community orientation is safety, for you and your family. Our RTL and GSMO communities can assist you, your local police, and national organizations find missing loved ones.

Safety Tips

BE CAUTIOUS!  FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS! It is very important when you're in any social networking site that you are cautious about sharing information. If you get a “bad” feeling about someone, especially someone who seems overly persistent, trust your instincts and get away. Stop contact immediately and alert us to your concerns.

KEEP YOUR PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PRIVATE:  Don’t share your name, address, phone number, social security number or credit card information with anyone you don’t know.  While most people are trustworthy, you can never know who is on the internet or what their motives are.  Remember, we will never ask for this information, and no one else should either!

CHECK PHOTOS CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING:  Photos can contain identifiable information that may not seem obvious.  A picture of you in your sports uniform can provide enough information for a stranger to track you down, as can your house number, license plate, or the name on your mailbox that it is in the background of a photo.  Check all photos for anything that can be used to identify who you are.

EMAIL: Never open and always delete unknown email attachments.  They can contain destructive viruses.

DON’T SHARE YOUR PASSWORD OR LOGIN:  By giving your password or login to others you are giving them permission to see and possibly alter your account, including your personal profile.  Don’t share this information with anyone.

DON’T AGREE TO MEET STRANGERS:  It is never safe to meet a new person if you are alone.  Take the necessary precautions to keep yourself safe: meet in a busy public place, take someone with you, tell others where you are going and who you are meeting, as well as when you will be back.  And don’t leave the public meeting place with the person you are meeting.
