You can use ANY cell phone that has a web browser!  You do not need to purchase a high dollar smart phone!

In fact, locating your dog has never been easier. Our ruggedized collar combines both a GPS receiver and a cellular modem so that the GPS location of your dog can easily be sent to LocationNation.com. Using the web browser on your cell phone or on your computer at home, you can easily log into your mobile account and see the location of your dog(s), yourself, the location of where you parked your truck and see them all on top of a Google® Map.

Additionally, we provide you with the GPS coordinates of each location and the distances between them. With this information, you can see just how far away your dog is from the truck or use the GPS coordinates with your handheld GPS for navigation.

Our solution utilizes cellular technology so there is not a range or distance limit - you can find your dog even if the dog is 10 feet, 10 miles or 10 states away!

All of our products utilize cellular technology to communicate GPS coordinates to LocationNation.com.  As a result, we do not have range or distance limits for locating the GPS collar on your dog. As long as the collar has cellular coverage, the collar will communicate it’s GPS location with our web server and you will see it’s location, regardless if the dog is 10 feet, 10 miles or 10 states away.

Cell and GPS Coverage!

The question that you are probably asking yourself right now is, “will this solution work if I’m hunting in an area that doesn’t have good cell phone coverage?”  While it is true that there must be cell towers available for our GPS collars to work, however our GPS collars will work in areas where you may not be able to make a phone call.

As you may have found, there are places where you will not be able to make a phone call but are able to send or receive text messages.  In this situation, your phone is using a data connection and the coverage area for data connections is much larger than the coverage area for voice service.  Because our GPS collars utilize a data connection, our solution will work in areas where you may not be able to make phone calls.  So, as long as you are able to connect to a cell tower and have the ability to send or receive a text message, our solution will work for you regardless of the distance between you and your dog.

While you can use any cell phone and keep your current phone provider, our collars use the AT&T data network for communication.  To see if our collars will work for you, please visit AT&T’s data coverage map at http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer  If you are planning to hunt outside of the US, we do have plans available.  Please contact LocationNation if you are planning to take your dog outside of the US so that additional fees can be avoided.

Use the web browser on your cell phone or on your computer to see the location of your dog(s), your truck and yourself on a Google® Map!

From the very beginning, customers of LocationNation have had the ability to locate GPS devices on a Google® Map using a web browser on a computer.  With our latest solution designed for hunters, customers now have the ability to view maps using both a cell phone and a computer.  In fact, both devices can be used at the same time to view the account.  This allows family members to view your dog’s location while you are hunting.

Marking your truck’s location on a map is actually quite easy.  When you are ready to start a hunt, you can mark your truck’s location as your base location using the dog’s GPS collar.  This process is quite simple and defined within your mobile account.

To see your location on the map with your Dog and your base location, you have a couple of options.  One, you can carry your own LocationNation GPS device with you (this is the same type of GPS device as used with the collar and are available for purchase at a lower price) or you can add a GPS enabled cell phone running LocationNation’s LNMobile Application.  Both of these devices will send your GPS location to LocationNation.com and will be available for viewing on your map with your dog’s location and your base location.

You can access your LocationNation.com mobile account using any cell phone carrier allowing web access!

Because you are simply using your cell phone’s web browser to access your mobile account on LocationNation.com, there is not a requirement for a specific cell phone provider.  You can use AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, Boost, US Cellular or any other.

More importantly, nearly all cell phones manufactured today offer a web browser.  If you don’t like the browser currently on your phone, there are companies who offer free browsers that can be easily downloaded.  For example, www.opera.com offers a free browser for cell phones and a “pay for” browser for smart phones.  Don’t forget to check with your cell phone provider as to whether or not you have a plan on your account to access the web.  Most providers will offer unlimited or small data plans for a small fee if not already included in your current service plan.
