All you need is a GPS device and a subscription to our site and you can see where your assets are, e.g., family members, RV club members, cattle on the range, golfers on the course, etc., all in real time. And better yet, you can see where all of your assets are together, at one time. Most sites offer you the opportunity to locate one item, or one type of item. With LocationNation, you can see many different assets on one map each with customizable icons to make them easily identifiable. And you'll see them on the best Google ® maps available today.
LocationNation is all about communities. If you have a subscription, you can set up your own RTL community. Examples include: The Smith Family, Massachusetts Corvette Club Members, Boy Scout Pack 39, The Sales Team for Pete’s Plumbing Supply, Delivery Trucks for Mimi’s Cookies, etc. The possibilities are endless! But the cool thing is, with LocationNation's RTL you’ll be able to track the members, or assets, of your community, in real-time. In other words, you'll be able to watch the changes on a map as the members of your community move about from place to place. There are two ways that you can display your RTL communities. One is publicly and the other is privately.
Public Display If you choose the public display option, anyone that accesses your community will be able to see the location of your members, or assets, unless, of course, their unit is turned off. Here's a typical scenario: You belong to a travel Club for RVers, and they've set up a public community on LocationNation called Cool RV People. You're taking a road trip and you pull into a campground in Hershey, Pennsylvania. With a web browser (either a laptop or a cell phone), you go to the Cool RV People public community on LocationNation and see if there are other members of the community near by, and if they are, you'll be able to see their precise location on the map, and even send a private message to them. (You can zoom out to see where they might be anywhere on the map.)
Private Display
If you choose a private display of your community, then only the members of your community will be able to view maps and locations of your community assets. For example, the Smith Family has three children who carry receivers during their day-to-day activities. Mom, Dad, or anyone else with access to the Smith Family's private community (via a secure login) will be the only ones who can know where on the map the Smith children are at any point in time.
On each community page you’ll find links to the personal profiles of the members. Within those profiles you’ll find personal information: Screen Name, Email Links, Hobbies, where the member is from, age, and the LocationNation Communities to which they belong. You'll also find links to their travel adventures if they’ve uploaded maps along with their travel journals. Members have the ability to upload photos and videos of their adventures as well. Visit our Communities Page to find out more about the process. |
